List of top 100 footballers in 2023
“The Guardian” published its annual list of the 100 best players in the world for 2022, and Lionel Messi, the star of French Saint-Germain, topped it.
Late last year, Messi led his country to win the 2022 World Cup, for the third time in the history of “Tango”. And he won the best player award in the tournament that was held in Qatar, after he contributed a major role in this coronation.
And French international Kylian Mbappe, his colleague in Saint-Germain, ranked second in the “Guardian” list.
Among the first 50 names were 4 Arab players, including the Egyptian Mohamed Salah, the Moroccans Ashraf Hakimi, Yassin Bono and Sofiane Merabet, while the Algerian Riyad Mahrez was missing.
