Only the United States and China have sent rovers to Mars
Mars Reconnaissance Camera captured an unusual formation resembling a bear’s face hundreds of millions of miles away.
According to an image analysis conducted by the University of Arizona last week, the bear’s “nose” is in fact a V-shaped mound, and its eyes are two small, asymmetrical craters.
The circle that represents the head, which is the “circular fissure” as the university calls it, may be a result of sediment settling over a buried impact crater.
According to the university’s speculations, “the nose may have been a volcanic or mud vent, and the deposits could be lava or mudflows.”
NASA’s “Perseverance” vehicle succeeded in landing on Mars in February 2021, to begin its mission to search for remnants of traces of life on the planet.
The ultimate goal of NASA is to one day send humans to the Red Planet to explore it with spacecraft and scientific devices.
Mars vehicles have only been landed on the surface of Mars by the United States and China so far.
